My Rating: 3/5
How I Got It: I received this book in exchange for an honest review as part of the blog tour.
Buy It: Amazon Barns & Noble
Summary: (Taken from Goodreads ) Sometimes you end up hurting the ones you love.
You find you can't save them or yourself.
Madison is familiar enough with change, and she hates everything about it. Change took her long-term boyfriend away from her. It caused one of her friends to suddenly hate her. It’s responsible for the death of a local along with a host of other mysterious happenings. But when Madison meets a hot new guy, she thinks her luck is about to improve. Madison is instantly drawn to the handsome and intriguing Isaac Addington. She quickly realizes he’s a guy harboring a secret, but she’s willing to risk the unknown to be with him. Her world really spins out of control, however, when her best friend becomes delusional, seeing things that aren’t there and desperately trying to escape their evil. When the doctors can’t find the answers, Madison seeks her own. Nothing can prepare her for what she is about to discover. Dangerous, intoxicating, and darkly romantic, Embrace is a thriller that will leave you spellbound.

My Review:
Embrace was a tale of mystery, romance, friendship, and magic. What more could you ask for in a book?!
I do have to say that this book started off slow for me. The writing was addicting, however. I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't stop reading!
We first meet our heroine, Madison, when she is going through a rough place in her life, not being able to get over her old boyfriend, Kevin, who has moved away.
She then meets our hero, Isaac, at a party, and, as the cool kids say: the rest is history.
The only complaint that I have is that we never got to know any of the characters very well. What did Madison enjoy doing, besides hanging out with her friends? How about Kaylee? I felt there was a complete lack of character development, and I was very disappointed with that, since I would have very much liked to know these characters. It made it very hard to feel and relate to any one of them.
Also, I couldn't really see a plot line. Everything seemed a bit all over the place, and some parts left me angry and confused.
Now, with all of that said, I think I can go on to mention the things that I really enjoyed!
I really liked the friendships in this book. Madison and Kaylee's friendship had to be one of my favorite parts. They were always there for each other, and I really liked that. Also, I really liked Josh, Kaylee's boyfriend, and one of Madison's close friends.
The added theme of magic didn't really play a big role in my view, but I did enjoy it. I felt it added a nice mix to things.
Overall, Embrace is worth the read if you're looking for something light, fun, and easy to read. For fans of paranormal that isn’t over the top, and a mystery that will keep you guessing until the end—Embrace just may be the book for you! Cherie Colyer has a promising future in writing for young adults, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Blog Tour: Destiny's Fire by Trisha Wolfe!

Hello, blog world! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Years! Today, I am pleased to say that 909 Reviews is part of the ARC tour for Trisha Wolfe's YA Steampunk novel, Destiny's Fire. Be sure to follow the whole tour, enter all of the giveaways (there will be many!) and when the fun comes to an end: ENTER TO WIN THE GRAND PRIZE! More on that later.
This tour is hosted by Julie at A Tale of Many Reviews, so thank you to her for all of her hard work.
This is 909 Reviews first character interview, and I couldn't have hoped for a better character to interview than Jace Tuner. Oh, Jace...

Publication: January 10th 2012 by Omnific Publishing
Blurb: It's the year 2040, and sixteen-year-old Dez Harkly is one of the last of her kind--part of a nearly extinct race of shape-shifters descended from guardians to the Egyptian pharaohs. Her home and her secret are threatened when the Council lowers the barrier, allowing the enemy race to enter the Shythe haven.
As the Narcolym airships approach, Dez and her friends rebel against their Council and secretly train for battle. Not only is Dez wary of war and her growing affection for her best friend Jace, but she fears the change her birthday will bring. When Dez's newfound power rockets out of control, it's a Narcolym who could change her fate… if she can trust him.
Dez's guarded world crumbles when she discovers why the Narcos have really come to Haven Falls, and she's forced to choose between the race who raised her and the enemy she's feared her whole life.

909 Reviews: I am pleased to say that Jace Tuner from Destiny's Fire has agreed to stop by the blog today, and answer a few questions for us. Welcome, Jace!

Jace Tuner: Hey, Angel. Thanks for having me. *winks*

909 Reviews: You’re very welcome! So! Tell us about yourself--things we don't know about you; things you probably don't want us to know about you?

Jace Tuner: *Cranes an eyebrow* Uh, I spend a lot of time at my sister's boyfriend's club, Cogs. Just turned seventeen, which means I'm now officially going to the Academy. *Drives hand through hair* I don't really know. I ride a levibike and love my leather jerkin. *shrugs* That's pretty much it.

909 Reviews: *Nods* Can you tell us about your relationship with your brother and sister, and your relationship with Dez?

Jace Tuner: Sure. Nick, Lana, and I…we spend a lot of time hanging out. I mean, we're triplets--not identical--but for the things we get into, there's no one else I trust like them. And Dez? *adjusts leather collar* We're close. I'd never let anything happen to her.

909 Reviews: *Grins* You have a bit of a temper, don't you? Would you say that's a good thing, or a bad thing?

Jace Tuner: Me? *widens eyes and chuckles* I think you're getting me mixed up with the Narocs. Those hotheads like to push everyone's buttons. I just react to their crap. I only get fired up when they're around.

909 Reviews: *Raises eyebrows* Uh-huh. I see… *Writes a few words on notepad* What were your feelings when you found out Dez's secret?

Jace Tuner: *Huffs* Like I was split down the center and my insides ripped out. Okay. That's a little extreme. But you have to understand. I've known that girl my whole life. I knew she was different…That's what I lo…like about her. I just couldn't…No. I don't want to get into this again. She's Dez. That's all. We're best friends, and no one's allowed to hurt her. Ever. *mentally glares at Reese*

909 Reviews: Describe yourself in three words.

Jace Tuner: Loyal. Tough…Funny? *smiles* *eyes squint*

909 Reviews: Describe Reese in three words.

Jace Tuner: *Sits forward and stares into Angel's eyes* A. Major. Dick.

909 Reviews: *Giggles nervously, looking around the room* I just wanted to thank you again for stopping by the blog today. Is there anything else you would like to say? Something you would like people to know about you?

Jace Tuner: Thanks, Angel. This was cool. Uh, not really. I mean, other than I'm determined to protect my race, at all costs, that's the only thing I want people to know. The Narcos won't threaten my friends and family again. I have plans for them.

I would like to thank both Jace, and author Trisha Wolfe for being awesome and for inviting me to be part of this tour. I honestly love blog tours, and Tirsha is amazing. :) Don’t forget to check out Destiny’s Fire, and all of Trish’s other works! Also, follow the blog tour! Grand Prize is an Egyptian Steampunk necklace, print copy of Destiny's Fire, and a signed Bookplate! Awesome, isn't it?! I'm so jealous of the lucky person who wins this! :) Be sure to stop by the blog on Thursday for my review of Destiny's Fire!
